For the past 9 years, Boston University's Fusion has hosted ELEMENTS, a hip hop dance showcase which has served to build bridges in our dance community and has featured some of the best talent we have here in Boston, New England, the East Coast, and beyond. We've had the honor of working with professional organizations from across the country including Funkanometry San Francisco, Dance 2XS Chicago, Phunk Phenomenon and America's Best Dance Crew's Boogie Bots and Fr3sh. The show has also maintained credible sponsors such as Red Bull, Crunk Energy Drink, Proper Realty Group, JetBlue, Scion, and Jam'n 94.5 who have helped us sell out each and every ELEMENTS we've hosted. In the last decade, ELEMENTS has become a tradition and one of the biggest hip hop shows in New England, and we plan to do things even bigger this year with new teams and a new location!
We're proud to announce ELEMENTS X, our 10th anniversary show and the newest addition to the East Coast dance competition circuit backed by the Hip Hop Dance Association (HHDA). On Saturday, November 14th, 2009, ELEMENTS X is giving Boston and East Coast crews the opportunity to go head-to-head in a full concert format competition to be held in the gorgeous, 1600+ seat Boston Colonial Theatre, located in the heart of the city. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be presented awards and prizes, with the $1000 grand prize being awarded to 1st place.
This year, ELEMENTS will be held in the gorgeous 1600+ seat Boston Colonial Theatre, located downtown in Boston's Historic Theatre District. Built in 1900, The Colonial Theatre is the oldest continuously operating theatre in New England. Over 100 years later, the theatre continues to operate as Boston's Premier Showplace recently hosting shows such as RENT, Chicago, and Avenue Q.
