FR3SH Dance Company has become a staple within the East Coast dance community, having hosted the first ever Main Event dance competition and representing the East Coast on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew Season 4. Now part of the FR3SH Dance Troupe, LLC, FR3SH strives to build not only the confidence of each dancer but to inspire others through their love of dance, as well.
Under the FR3SH Family umbrella are two auxiliary, competitive teams - FR3SH Juniors + FR3SH Freestyle Crew.
The FR3SH 7 recently represented the East Coast on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew Season 4 and are coming to Boston for their first big performance since the competition!
Funkanometry San Francisco Dance Company is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit performing arts organization renowned in the Bay Area for their cutting-edge choreography, stylistic versatility, and professionalism. It was established in 2002 and has sister branches in Los Angeles and San Diego. Through performances, company classes, workshops, and youth mentorship, Funkanometry SF is a dynamically different dance company whose eccentric style of choreography has been recognized worldwide.
The Funkanometry Umbrella, aka the FUNKBRELLA, has now come to include FUNKSTERS, a competitive youth training company, PROJECT EM, an all-male dance collective, DE LA FEMME, an all-female dance collective, and THE ODDS, the Funkbrella's collegiate competitive team.
NeverLand is a dance company under The Lost Kids, directed by Kyle Hanagami and Ellen Kim. ELEMENTS X will be their debut performance, so come check out this amazing West Coast team!
Established in 1995, Phunk Phenomenon is comprised of New England's (the Tri-State area in particular) finest male and female dance and promotional talent, the Phunk Phenomenon combines these unique multi-ethnic, multicultural urban artists to create a intriguing blend of modern and traditional dance styles. As a multi-cultural organization that honors our diversity and celebrates our individual ethnic heritages, Phunk Phenomenon endeavors to promote community, ethnic and personal empowerment. Through its work, Phunk Phenomenon encourages individuals and communities to raise their unique 'voices and views' to create constructive changes personally, locally and globally.
Phunk Phenomenon placed first at the Prelude East Coast Dance Competition in 2008 and has since competed in other East Coast competitions and at Hip Hop International.
Established in 2004, Lil Phunk is the Official Junior Dance team for the Boston Celtics. Lil Phunk consists of 33 boys and girls who range from the ages of 6-13 years old. Lil Phunk is chosen by way of audition every summer. This is an explosive hip-hop dance group that will take your breath away incorporating breakdancing, popping and locking and tumbling into their hip-hop routines. Lil Phunk has performed for the NBA, NWBA, NCAA, KISS 108, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, FOX 25 News, Tsunami Relief, Radio Disney and many more.
Originating from the Bronx, New York, Rhythm City captures the essence of Hip-Hop in rare form. In a world where style and music are constantly changing, Rhythm City's choreography remains innovative and unique, resulting in a group of individuals who express Dance in a style all their own. They have traveled and competed both internationally and locally. Some avenues include Switzerland's Dance 2 Dance Competition, Lil Mama's "Lip Gloss" & "G-Slide" Video, Wyclef "Fast Car" video, Carmen ft. Big Tigger "Sweat" Video, and Elijah "I Like Moving" Video. Also BET "Rip the Run Way", BET "Blaze the Stage", "106 and Park", and Culture Shock's East Coast Dance Competition. More recently, Rhythm City has competed in MTV's America's Best Dance Crew making it to the top 4.
The company's intent is to cultivate the hip-hop dance form and teach it with the same dedication and respect commanded by other "classic" dance forms. Rhythm City uses Hip-Hop to empower the youth in their communities as an alternative to drugs, violence, and destructive influences. Led by CEO/Artistic Director Alonzo Williams, Rhythm City has grown to utilize hip-hop dance as a powerful medium to inspire performance and to bring positive messages to diverse communities.
SoReal Cru, a crew based out of Houston, took their passion to elevate the dance scene all the way to the finals of America's Best Dance Crew in Season 2. The group reached a landmark on MTV's Americas Best Dance Crew, being the first group in the history of the show to never be voted in the bottom 2 to face elimination.
Having already won such awards as Crowd Favorite and 1st place at World of Dance for 2008, their main goal has never changed- to give audiences across the world something that has never been seen before.
Together this group has taken a fully versatile approach to the dance scene, incorporating everything and anything to express the art of raw emotion. The end result is a performance tour-de-force that will leave everyone wanting more. Soreal Cru firmly believes that today's audience deserves more than just a show- they deserved to be moved.
